The Arewa Commu
nity in Edo North and Central Senatorial Districts on Monday appealed to the state government to create jobs for its members.
At a rally held in Auchi, the Chairman of the Arewa Edo North- Central, Mallam Issah Salihu, said that many jobless Hausa graduates were living in state.
“We want to know if is it the fault of the government or the people leading us; that is why we are holding this rally.
“We support Gov. Adams Oshiomhole; we need his assistance.
“We have lived in this community for a very long time.
“Elections are coming, we want to know who to vote for; that is why we are here; we want to let the governor know what is happening to us,’’ he said.
He, however, hailed Oshiomhole for appointing Hausa indigenes into his cabinet.
Salihu said that the community needed more appointments.
“ Oshiomhole is the one that gave us two senior special assistants.
“ Hausa people have been in the state since 1809, and as we are here, we have graduates who are well educated but you cannot go to a local government and see Hausa persons working there,’’ he said.
