Bayelsa State Founding
Fathers’ Forum (BFF) has pleaded with Nigerians and the international community to show understanding and support for President Goodluck Jonathan on the lingering security challenges confronting the country.
In a press statement issued in Yenagoa, the group stressed the need for every citizen to support the security agencies order to perform better, saying that the ultimatum given to President Jonathan concerning the kidnapped Chibok girls was erroneous, tribalistic and undeserving of a president who is trying his best to transform the country for good.
The Chairman,  Dr. Amba Ambaiowei who also signed the statement, said the attitude of some well placed individuals who seem to be enjoying the successes of some evil men calls for a great concern.
He said that, “several meaningless, mindless and heartless bombings and massacres of innocent citizens and, in particular the abduction of over two hundred school girls from Chibok in Borno are providing some mischievous elements in the country opportunity to showcase their importance and political relevance.
According to Dr Ambaiowei, “sponsors, supporters and sympathisers of Boko Haram, within the evil mindset they exhibit, are doing neither the country nor themselves any good on the long run as all over human civilization, brute force has never prevailed over the people of goodwill and Boko Haram can never be an exception.
He declared, “we want to make it clear that no group, be it political or religious or ethnic will rule over the quiet and God-fearing majority by intimidation, blackmail or evil machinations”.
“The actions taken by President Jonathan’s administration would have moved the development of the country much farther if the needless Book Haram distractions were not there.”
He therefore, urged Nigerians to pray fervently against the mindless killings, urging support  for the administration of President Jonathan and security agencies for a quick resolution of security challenges  as envisaged by National Council of States.
