The Ogoni Welders and Fitters Indigenous Association has advised the warring factions in the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) to sheathe their swords in the interest of peace and development of the Ogoni Nation.

Mr. Obekwa also said that Ogoni Welders and Fitters Indigenous Association was formed to seek recognition from the various companies operating in Ogoniland.
According to him, the association is made up of professionals who have the competencies to provide quality service to the various companies operating in Ogoniland.
Also speaking, Secretary General of the association, Comrade Benjamin Nyor, stated that the local content policy of the Federal Government should be adhered to by the companies operating in Ogoni land.
He noted that the association will not relent in its fight for the implementation of the local content policy by companies operating in Ogoni land.
