Commissioner Tasks Contractors On Road Projects

The Cross River State
Commissioner for Works, Engr. Dane Osim-Asu, has charged all contractors handling projects in Cross River Rural Access Mobility Projects (CR-RAMP) to go back to site and ensure speedy completion of the projects.
Engr. Osim-Au who stated this while addressing a team of contractors in his office emphasised that the State Government, under the Prof. Ben Ayade-led administration was committed to providing quality roads in both rural and urban areas.
According to him, the objectives of ensuring the construction of rural roads as well as transforming the rural areas to attract socio-economic development cannot be compromised.
The Commissioner urged the contractors to see the contracts awarded to them as a serious matter as far as developing the rural areas is concerned and make sure they returned to site to complete the road projects or face sanction.
He called on contractors and other Non-Governmental Organizations to assist in developing the Ministry of Works Training School project, under Corporate Social Responsibility, adding that the Ministry of Works Training School would be extended to other zones in the state to enhance learning and productivity.
Osim-Asu directed the project coordinator of CR-RAMP, Engr. Charles Okongoh, to design a work plan on how the road maintenance of some pot holes linking the rural areas could commence.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Charles Eyong urged the contractors to cooperate with the Commissioner for Works to achieve government set goals for the benefit of the citizenry.
