He described the wife of the governoras a dependable partner ofthe United Nations Agencies, emphasising that, the Vision and Mission Statement of Mediatrix Development Foundation, as well as their activities and programmes are in conformity with those of the UN Agencies in the state to ensure growth in the health and social sectors.
He maintained that, such fusion in service provision would go a long way in strengthening activities of the UN Agencies in the areas of protection of orphans, vulnerable children, child right issue, social support for women, maternal Health care, as well as plans to initiate mobile clinics. He noted that, these are some of the critical areas of intervention that most UN-agencies are already delivering effectively in the state.

In his remarks, the Country Director UN-AIDS, Dr. Bilali Camara, said, they were in the state to brainstorm and chart out areas of possible synergy and collaboration especially in the areas of health care provision and other social services provision and how they affect our people.
Camara said that, the choice of Calabar as venue for the meeting was borne out of the committee of stakeholders in the critical areas of their services noting the complementary works of the wife of the governor in putting in place structures and programmes aimed at alleviating the suffering of the less privileged.
The Country Director noted that operators of UN agencies have come to a consensus that come year 2020, no child would be born with HIV/AIDS and none will die of AIDs in the State; The state is the first to pilot the programme of elimination of Mother -To-Child-Transmission of HIV / AIDs in the country.
